Oil on Wood
This painting grew out of my interest in capturing quiet, introspective moments. I was drawn to the way the figure interacts with the water — standing, still, yet part of a living, moving world.
The pencil sketch beside the painting shows the initial idea, a simpler version of the pose and gesture. Seeing it evolve into the oil painting felt like discovering something new about the subject — about movement, light, and the emotions that the figure could hold.
The colors and textures were meant to be gentle, letting the figure exist within the scene without dominating it, creating a moment of calm and reflection.
