Face of 2024
Oil on Canvas
This work, Face of 2024, is both a portrait and a reflection. I painted it with the idea of capturing an inner state rather than a likeness — a moment of stillness, of looking inward with eyes closed. The warm tones of the skin against the cooler background became a way to balance fragility with quiet strength. The looseness of the brushwork leaves parts of the surface open, as if the painting itself is unfinished, still searching. For me, it marks a chapter of thought and emotion during this year, though I prefer to let the meaning remain open to others.
