Flamingo is part of my 2023 Birds collection. I was drawn to the elegance of its form — the long neck curving into an ‘S,’ a line as simple as it is timeless. Watercolor let me layer shades of pink and coral until the feathers felt alive, soft yet luminous. Against the muted gray background, the bird stands in quiet focus, its colors speaking for themselves. Birds have appeared in art for centuries as symbols of grace, freedom, and beauty, and here I wanted to continue that dialogue while also letting the flamingo exist simply as itself: alert, balanced, and serene.
