Watercolor, acrylic and gold leafs on Paper
I was inspired by the quiet elegance and poise of traditional geishas when I painted this piece. The fan and the hair ornaments became ways to explore color and detail, but the focus for me was always on the expression — that subtle tension between serenity and something held inside.
The dark background felt important; it allows the figure to exist in her own space, undisturbed, while the hints of green and the vibrant fan suggest life and movement around her. I wanted the painting to feel both soft and deliberate, like a moment captured in thought.
